I am Courtney Clark, an arts educator and certified music Integration Learning Specialist with a background in vocal performance, Opera and Musical Theater. My expertise is at the intersections of musical arts, education, change-maker, and arts visionary. I aid in the planning and facilitating of teaching artists/educator training and workshops in tandem with creating & evaluating public and private arts educational programs throughout the Greater Seattle area. I am a fervent believer in, and witness to the transformative power of the arts and would now like to use this passion, knowledge and experience to bring arts to the most diverse audiences as possible. Serving youth, especially those from underserved communities like my own, is my passion.

Most recently the School Program Manager at Seattle Opera, I managed three rigorously dynamic K-12 in school programs: Opera Time, School Opera Tour and Experience Opera. Because of this work, I bring a dedication and intentionality to create racial equity in arts education as I strive to create a more socially just world through the lens of music and the practice of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

What I Want to Accomplish as the Interim Co-Executive Director:

  • Build stronger community  relationships and partnerships on the state and federal level that can assist in advocating and moving forward the advancement of equitable and accessible arts education in all communities- helping schools  and districts build their capacity for the provision of arts learning through statewide programs and partnerships, providing free community resources, 21 century upgrades, and more.

  • Bring greater attention to the advocacy accomplishments of Arts Ed Washington, the company’s rebirth from the ground up and its current dynamic change making vision for Washington State if embraced as a valuable source for arts advocacy.  We are small but passionately mighty!
