Arts in Education Program Manager
Washington State Arts Commission
Lisa is the Arts in Education Program Manager at the Washington State Arts Commission, where she has worked since 2005. Lisa manages Arts in Education grant programs, a Roster of Teaching Artists, Poetry Out Loud, and other projects aimed at improving arts education offerings in K-12 public schools in Washington State. With Seattle Repertory Theatre and other partners, she co-directs the statewide Teaching Artist Training Lab, and she produced the Arts Commission’s statewide report on K-12 arts education as part of the Arts Education Research Initiative. Lisa served on the Arts Education Advisory Group for the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies from 2008-2010, and served as chair in 2010. Prior to joining the staff at the Arts Commission, Lisa worked at Seattle Children’s Theatre for 13 years, serving as the Administrative Director of Education Programs for the last 9 of those years. She was also involved with Spectrum Dance Theater in Seattle for several years as a volunteer and a board member.
Lisa holds a BA in Humanities from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master’s in Not-For-Profit Leadership from Seattle University.
