Project Description

CREATIVITY BUILDS KNOWLEDGE

We bring knowledge, support, and inspiration to teachers and administrators across the state and are committed to supporting your work by providing the following tools:

Arts Lessons in the Classroom

Washington State Arts Standards Workshop

Principals Arts Leadership

Our Common Core standards-aligned Art Lessons In the Classroom (ALIC) curriculum provides sequential learning in visual art for grades K-6. The lessons include key vocabulary, parent letters, teacher assessments, and connections with literacy and math concepts.  ALIC is supplemented with an online Curriculum Portal which includes a discussion forum, instructional videos and photos, and images of art from around the state that correlate with each lesson – bringing the museum masterworks to the classroom.

We work closely with our arts partners to bring you access to information and opportunities that help educators expand their understanding and expertise in arts learning.

To learn how you can get your school involved, please contact us. We look forward to helping you advance the arts in your school!

FIND A TRAINING

Our state assessment scores have gone up more than 20 points in the last three years. I really think the arts curriculum helps deepen all lessons.  If you’re teaching a math concept and you paint it, draw it, and make it in clay, you understand that concept a lot more.
