Visual Thinking Strategies Intro Two-Day Practicum

November 9, 2012 @ 10:00 am - November 10, 2012 @ 4:00 pm

Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) is a student-centered, research-based teaching method that improves critical thinking and language skills through discussions of art. VTS encourages participation and self-confidence, especially among students who struggle in traditional learning environments. VTS is easy to learn and offers a proven strategy for educators to meet current learning objectives.

This two-day workshop provides an introduction to VTS with hands-on practice in the Frye Art Museum galleries. The workshop is open to all educators including teachers, professors, parent docents, teaching artists, and museum educators. Yoon Kang-O’Higgins, VTS National Program Director, Sarah Lenoue, VTS Trainer, and Jill Hardy, Frye Art Museum Coordinator of Youth, Student, and Teacher Programs lead this workshop.

$200 Frye members/$245 Nonmembers.

Credit and clock hours available through Seattle Pacific University.
