Aligning Your School’s Creative Lessons with Common Core State Standards
A principals peer forum presented by ArtsEd Washington
and the Association of Washington School Principals
Come learn how to align the power of creative learning through the arts with Common Core State Standards at this lively half-day forum geared specifically for principals and school district leaders.
In addition to connecting with your peers, you’ll engage in an energetic discussion around the evaluation of arts instruction using new frameworks and ascertain how the arts are an effective way to achieve the standards.
Following opening remarks from Jessica Vavrus, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning at OSPI, featured presenters from Arts Impact will demonstrate and share information on teaching, learning, evaluation of arts instruction, and the Common Core standards.
Session activities include:
- Examining recent research about exceptional teaching and quality arts education.
- Enhancing knowledge of arts lesson alignment with Common Core math concepts.
