Kicking off Arts Education Month, KING 5 reporter Christie Johnson highlights the important role of the arts in schools and the positive impacts on students participating in arts programs in a special education segment “What’s Cool in School.” ArtsEd Washington is featured with Carnation Elementary School, who is noted – along with Tacoma School of the Arts and Elk Plain Elementary – for their recent WA State School of Excellence in Arts Education award (a program of The Kennedy Center), that was presented by ArtsEd Washington in partnership with the Association of School Principals.
